No sound comes out

I got this as a gift and I have enjoyed many IK Multimedia products in the past, so I was predisposed to love this app and accessory. However, no sound comes out no matter what do, and Im running the latest iPad and iOS.

What I truly and sincerely recommend is that IK Multimedia either fire their entire marketing department, or at least instruct the app developers that if a marketing person says jump, they can punch that marketing person in the mouth. The app is like a sales pitch, full of endless marketing-driven distractions, which I had to carefully navigate around until I finally realized I was not going to get any sound out of this app. The thing is: I ALREADY BOUGHT THE PRODUCT. Stop marketing to me. The apps that go with iRing should literally have 10% of the buttons. I mean it. Take out 90% of the buttons and information. Provide some instructions that get a person started with the product.
